Kahf Guard on Desktop

Protect your PC with KahfDNS and Kahf Browser

There's no separate Windows or Mac app yet — but two free methods cover a desktop completely. Set KahfDNS on your router, and use Kahf Browser for a filtered browsing experience.

Straight answer first: there is no standalone Kahf Guard app for Windows or Mac. The app with Screen Time, App Blocker, and the tamper lock is built for phones. But a PC is still fully protectable — the filtering that powers Kahf Guard runs at the DNS level, and DNS works on any device, including a desktop. This page shows the two free methods and exactly what each one covers.

Is there a Kahf Guard app for PC?

Short answer

No — Kahf Guard's app is iOS and Android only. For a PC, use one of two free routes: set KahfDNS on your Wi-Fi router so every device including the desktop is filtered, or install Kahf Browser on Windows and Mac for a filtered browsing experience. Most homes use both together.

You may see emulator guides that run the Android app on a PC through BlueStacks. Skip that. It's slower, it doesn't apply system-wide, and it isn't needed — DNS-level filtering already covers the whole machine without an emulator.

How to protect a PC with KahfDNS (router method)

Short answer

Set your router's DNS to KahfDNS and every device on the Wi-Fi — the PC, phones, tablets, smart TVs — is filtered at once. Use the Strong hostname high.kahfguard.com, or the exact addresses shown in the Kahf Guard app under Settings → DNS Setup. It's free and takes a few minutes.

  1. Open your router settingsType your router address (often 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) into a browser and sign in with the admin login.
  2. Find the DNS fieldLook under Internet, WAN, or DHCP settings for "DNS server."
  3. Enter the KahfDNS addressesUse the addresses for your chosen level — the Strong level is high.kahfguard.com. Open the Kahf Guard app on any phone, go to Settings → DNS Setup, and copy the exact addresses shown there.
  4. Save and restart the routerApply the change and reboot. Every device on the network, including your PC, now resolves through KahfDNS.
Just one PC? You can set KahfDNS in the desktop's own network settings instead of the router — same addresses from the app. The router method is better for a household because it covers every device and is harder to switch off casually.

Kahf Browser for Windows and Mac

Short answer

Kahf Browser is a free halal browser for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. It blurs explicit images and blocks ads, trackers, and harmful sites inside the browser. Pair it with KahfDNS: the DNS filters the whole machine, and the browser adds a cleaner in-page experience on top.

DNS filtering and the browser solve different halves of the problem. DNS stops harmful domains from loading anywhere on the PC. Kahf Browser handles what happens inside pages you do visit — softening explicit imagery and stripping ads and trackers. Together they cover a desktop end to end.

What you get on PC vs on mobile

On a PC (via DNS + browser)

  • Adult, gambling, phishing, and malware domains blocked across the whole machine
  • Enforced Safe Search and YouTube Restricted Mode through KahfDNS
  • Explicit-image blur, ad and tracker blocking inside Kahf Browser
  • Whole-home coverage when set at the router

Mobile-only (needs the app)

  • App Blocker, Screen Time analytics, Habit Tracker, Focus Mode
  • Uninstall and DNS-change lock (tamper protection)
  • Per-child parental controls and family dashboard
  • Reels/Shorts controls and Auto-Silent during Salah (Android)

One filter, the whole house

Setting the filter at the router protects everyone under the roof at once — the family desktop included — without asking each person to police their own screen. Remove the temptation from the path, then trust. That's the intent behind whole-home filtering.

Both methods are free. Start with whichever fits — most families do both.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Kahf Guard app for Windows?
No. Kahf Guard's app is available on iPhone and Android only. To protect a Windows PC, set KahfDNS on your router (or in the PC's own network settings), and use Kahf Browser, which does run on Windows.
Can I use Kahf Guard on a PC?
Yes, through its DNS. The filtering that powers Kahf Guard runs at the DNS level, so pointing your router or PC at KahfDNS protects the desktop. You don't need the mobile app or an emulator for this.
How do I block adult content on a Windows PC?
Set your router's DNS to KahfDNS — the Strong level is high.kahfguard.com, and the exact addresses are in the Kahf Guard app under Settings → DNS Setup. That blocks adult, gambling, and malware domains on every device including the PC. Add Kahf Browser for in-page filtering.
Does Kahf Guard work on Mac?
The same way as on Windows. There's no native Mac app, but KahfDNS protects a Mac when set at the router or in the Mac's network settings, and Kahf Browser is available for macOS.
Is Kahf Browser free?
Yes. Kahf Browser is free on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. It blurs explicit images and blocks ads, trackers, and harmful sites inside the browser.
